Less labor- Intensive than eating pomegranates is drinking pomegranate juice. One brand that’s commonly available is Pom Wonderful, but any brand that is primarily juice is fine. Just watch out for added sugars and for the infamous ‘’Juice drinks” That can contain as little as 10 percent actual juice.

The toxic compound homocysteine is a risk factor in heart disease and stroke. In addition to being tested for homocysteine levels in your blood, take these vitamins daily to lower your levels:

  •  Folic Acid:1 gram (up to 4 grams)
  •  B12 : 1,000 mcg
  •  B6:   100 mg 
If your homocysteine levels remain elevated, your doctor may suggest higher doses and may also add the supplement TMG (trimethylglycine), which usually does the trick.
